One of the worst pains ever ⚰️

It’s the third time now visiting the doctor because of this weird cold. It takes a lot for me to go to the doctor. Anyway, I’m not sure what’s up with me. But I suspect that I simply got a longer and more annoying cold than usual. I got infected twice in a row, so I guess that’s why it feels like it never ends?

Anyhow, it started about one month ago after coming back to Korea from visiting Sweden in September. So it started in the end of October, and it was just like any cold. Can’t remember in detail anymore as it was some time ago now, but I had a stuffed nose 24/7 for weeks. Then it started to get better, until something happened again and it got worse. Started coughing and had sooo much phlegm that I never disappeared. Went to the doctor again in December, because I was so sick of it. I was almost impressed how much phlegm my body can produce…

The doctor could only speculate. Got some pills to take for 2 weeks and nose sprays. Don’t think that those pills helped me at all to be honest. The nosespray helped though.

But the damn phlegm. Don’t ask me where it came from. Or how it was possible to get so much of it in a short period of time. The body is amazing. And so, today I went to the hospital again, for the third time… Because for about one week ago, my hearing was decreased to the point where I couldn’t hear my teacher clear enough (even though it was a small classroom). I tried to hold on and wait for it to get better, but it didn’t…

So anyway, today’s visit to the doctor. It probably goes down as one of the most memorable hospital visits ever, in a bad way (thankfully though, they are few). The doctor said that I most likely got fluid stuck in my sinuses. He inserted a tiny camera in my ear so I got to see the beauty of it. So… It was because of this fluid that I almost completely lost my hearing! He suggested to suck it out by a tiny little vaccuum cleaner (it was a needle). He said it would only hurt a little bit, therefore he received all of my faith. I turned away my face in an attempt to not see what was going on (needle phobia), but what happened next came to change my life forever. I don’t easily whine because of pain, but holy cow… 🐄

That needle. In my ear. It first started with a little pinch, and I thought that was all. But then pain number 2 came. And I didn’t even have the time to blink, before pain number 3 arrived. And number 4, and 5. Just writing about this gives me sweaty hands. I couldn’t even sit still, and that probably made it worse (he told me to sit still so he doesn’t sabotage the inside of my ear). And then he stopped, probably because I couldn’t sit still and was grimacing like a lunatic (he did however point out that he didn’t get it all out). And the after effects of getting this fluid sucked out of my tiny ear (I have small ears) made me so incredibly dizzy – my face turned completely white and I wanted to projectile puke all over the place. I asked where the bathroom was because I needed some cold water or just anything cold on my face as quick as possible. Ugh. I didn’t throw up, thankfully. I felt better pretty quickly after splashing cold water in my face, and so I returned to the doctor’s office and he seemed surprised that I got so sick. Anyway… It was extremely painful and I hope I never have to do it again, my entire body was shaking from the shock…

Top 5 pains in my lifetime. 0/10 do not recommend.

By the way, the doctor told me that the reason of the mass production of phlegm in my tiny sinuses is because it’s dry up there. For some reason. I also got a nosespray to make it moist again, lol. Hopefully I will notice an improvement soon. Got a check up appointment next week. I feel satisfied.
