This is so crazy what happened today. I was going to my beloved Seoul today at 14.45. My parents and aunt drive me all the way to Kastrup early morning. While there we say goodbye, hug and then they’re off. I go to the check-in, having no idea what’s waiting for me. After the guy behind the desk have a look at my passport, he claims that I need to have a return ticket in order to even board the plane (along with a tourist visa). W-h-a-t? I didn’t book a return ticket as I don’t know when I’ll be back again. I felt like I was standing at the edge of the world. Suddenly, I needed to buy a return ticket before the gates closed.
I was angry later because I couldn’t find any information about this, maybe they think it’s common knowledge? But first, I was only in shock. I went to a counter to buy a return ticket, and the woman was really helpful and managed to find a ticket that I’m able to re-book later to change the date. 6 000:- SEK was the price, and just when I was about to pay with my card, I realised that I only got 1 000:-. I decide to call my mum and explain what’s up, but since I was still very shocked and stressed that I might miss my flight I couldn’t hold back my tears! Everybody is looking at me, and I can’t even remember what I said but they hold the ticket for me and I step aside.
My parents drive back to the airport, and sadly we find out that they can’t do a transfer to me because they need a bank card reader (if you want to transfer money you’ll need this small reader where you insert your card, and get some pin codes to use for safety measurements) and also – there’s no damn wifi. It’s an airport, goddammit! Anyway. Mum tries to calm me down, and then when we go to the ticket counter again they say that my gate is closed. I start crying again, I just can’t help it. But, the woman finds a new ticket for me the next day though, and we only need to pay 300:- SEK which is really nice. I feel instantly relieved! She also tells us to go home, and try to look for a return ticket that might be more cheap than the one she suggested. And so we did, after some shopping in Helsingør! We find a ticket for 4 000:- SEK instead.
Sigh.
